Questions, answered plainly.
What we are, what an intake does and does not do, what it costs, and what to expect from the text message program.
Scams & consumer advocacy
Is Amylan a government agency?
No. Amylan is an independent consumer advocacy company. We are not a government agency, we are not affiliated with the FTC, and no agency has endorsed or sponsored this site.
Is Amylan a law firm?
No. We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice or legal representation. We provide consumer advocacy, general legal information, intake and referrals. If your matter needs a licensed attorney, we can explain referral options.
Can you promise to recover my money?
No. We do not guarantee recovery, a settlement, a fee, a timeline or any particular outcome. Anyone who guarantees a result — especially before reviewing your records — should make you cautious.
What should I do right after a scam?
Stop the conversation, protect your accounts and contact your bank. Preserve every message, receipt and screenshot. Report the incident to the appropriate agency, your state attorney general, or local law enforcement. Then, if you want help organizing the record, start an intake.
Do you work on every kind of consumer problem?
No. We focus on consumer scams and fraud, identity theft, debt collection, online purchase and rental disputes, consumer contracts, and closely related consumer-rights matters. Jurisdiction and facts determine whether we can help.
Process, eligibility & fees
What happens after I submit an intake?
We review the outline, check whether the matter is within scope and jurisdiction, and follow up at the email or phone number you provided. We may ask for a clearer timeline or for copies of records you already hold. We do not ask for passwords, Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, or identification documents through this site.
Does submitting an intake create an attorney-client relationship?
No. Submitting an intake does not create an attorney-client relationship, and it does not mean we have accepted the matter. Any engagement and any fee must be set out in a written agreement signed by both sides.
What does it cost?
There is no charge to submit an intake. If we take on work, the scope and any fee are explained in a written agreement before work begins. We do not promise that a fee will be recovered or that a matter will produce a payment.
What information should I not send?
Do not send your Social Security number, date of birth, bank or card numbers, passwords, one-time codes, passport or other identity documents, or case evidence files through the contact or intake form. Tell us what records exist; we will discuss a safer way to share them if needed.
Do you help in every state?
Not necessarily. Scope depends on the facts, the jurisdiction and our capacity. If we cannot help, we will say so and explain alternatives, which may include a referral to licensed counsel or a public resource.
Text messages
What text messages will I receive?
If you opt in, you will receive marketing and promotional messages about the Amylan consumer advocacy service and information about how to start an intake. We do not send legal advice, case details, or outcome, fee or settlement promises by text.
Do you send marketing messages?
Yes. The text program is marketing and promotional. Messages promote the Amylan consumer advocacy service and explain how to start an intake. They do not name individual cases, give legal advice, or promise an outcome, a fee or a settlement.
How do I opt in?
Use the text updates page at /updates. Enter a US mobile number, then check the optional SMS box if you want messages. The box is unchecked by default, and consent is not a condition of receiving services. You can submit the form without checking it. You can also opt in by replying YES to an Amylan marketing message.
How do I stop or get help?
Reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE or UNSUB to any message to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at the email or phone number on this site. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply.
Will you share my mobile information?
No. We will not sell or share your mobile information with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. The Privacy Policy contains the full mobile-information declarations and the SMS Terms describe the program in detail.
Amylan provides general consumer-protection information and intake services. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice or representation.
